It is my pleasure to have the good fortune of working for the City of Surrey out of the Engineering works yard for over five years and have been active within our Local for the past two years. This is my first time being on the executive and I look forward to working together with our members. I look forward to a bright future with our Local 402 and learning from an excellent and experienced board of executives.
I have been with the City for the past 19 years at the RCMP Detachment, and have been an active member with the Union since 2012. I am currently an Executive at Large, and am on the Peer to Peer committee as well as the RCMP committee. I enjoy working with and learning from the other executives, and look forward to what the future brings. Please feel free to contact me any time.
I have been working for the City of Surrey since 1988, first with the RCMP and soon after moved to the Finance Department where I worked for 24 years. I then made a change and moved to Engineering in the Realty Division where I am currently a Business Coordinator.
I have been involved in the City of Surrey Social Committee for the last 15 years as well. I was recently elected as an Executive at Large and have taken on the role as chairperson for the CUPE 402 Women committee. Please feel free to contact me.
I’ve been working in aquatics for the city of Surrey for over 10 years and now actively involved in the union for 3 years. I usually work out of the South Surrey Indoor Pool and co- chair the Young Workers Committee with Monica.
My union education includes Shop Steward level 1, Woman in Leadership, Communicating CUPE and Political Action.
It’s been a pleasure being a part of the executive and representing our local. I welcome your feedback and any questions you may have. Feel free to call or email me, or come say hi at the next General Meeting which is the second Wednesday of every month.
My work history in the city environment has spanned almost 18 years, at 3 different cities. I have worked as a skating instructor, ice man and grass cutter in Delta. I have done pumps and controls and main line construction in Port Coquitlam. At the city of Surrey I have been a laborer trades improver and relief charge hand in the water department. I am currently an equipment operator in the fleet department. I believe my experience enables me to understand what workers in various departments go through, and hope that I am able to help each and every person that needs my help through hard work, knowledge and compassion.
I started working at the City of Surrey in 2012 as a Natural Areas partitioner with the Urban Forestry section.
Since attending my first CUPE 402 General Meeting in 2015, I gotten involved with the Young Worker’s Committee, Communications Committee, and the Environment Committee. I have been an Executive at Large since May 2016.
